As an artist I observe and absorb color, inspired by the play of light and the spaces in between. Working with fibre I am drawn to the weightless, familiar and tactile luminosity of wool.

I have been striving for control and detail with a single needle, entangling loose strands into patterns, forms and illustrations. I am building stories with layers, delighting in the harmonies and discords that occur in the relationships of colors.

Wrestling in soapy water a painting of a million strands emerges, invoking memory and feeling. It is through this process, this art of felting, that I am able to be physically connected and sensitive to the unfolding of my art.
